What Happened to Sarahah?
If you remember Sarahah, you probably know it as the anonymous messaging app that became the #1 downloaded app worldwide in 2017 with over 300 million registered users. Sarahah was created by Zain-Alabdin Tawfiq, a Saudi entrepreneur.
In 2018, Apple and Google removed Sarahah from their app stores. The reason initially cited was a petition — one that turned out to be falsified. The original anonymous messaging service was discontinued.
Is Sarahah Still Available?
The original Sarahah app and anonymous messaging service are no longer available. However, sarahah.com has been relaunched with a new purpose — offering a science-backed Big Five personality test to help you understand yourself.
Important: Any other websites claiming to be “Sarahah” (such as sarhne.com or sarahah.pro) are not affiliated with the original Sarahah or its founder. The only official website is sarahah.com.

Who Created Sarahah?
Sarahah was created by Zain-Alabdin Tawfiq, a Saudi entrepreneur. He built the first version as a solo developer while working a full-time job.
What is the Big Five?
The Big Five personality traits, also known as the OCEAN model, measure five broad dimensions of personality:
- O Openness to Experience — Imagination, curiosity, and willingness to try new things
- C Conscientiousness — Organization, dependability, and self-discipline
- E Extraversion — Sociability, assertiveness, and positive emotions
